This is the official site for the One Piece anime (Japanese:ワンピース Hepburn: Wan Pīsu), a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. Though its name refers to one specific storyline, most of the series is encompassed by a complex overarching plotline that features many different story arcs. The story follows Monkey D. Luffy and his quest to become the next Pirate King by joining three other pirates, known as The Straw Hat Pirates, in order to seek out the One Piece in order to become the richest man in the world.

The best-known arc in One Piece is the Grand Line because it is divided into 6 different islands that can be reached by passing through a number of gates known as one-way doors or the gates to the afterlife. Each island has different inhabitants, as well as different rules

One Piece originally ran in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1997 and then ran on television in 1999. While it has been brought to life by various anime companies, including Toei Animation and Madhouse, it is currently under the control of Toei Animation.
